Heavy Rain in Mumbai gets tragic, Damages Malvani Slum

The authorities are evacuating people from this structure and nearby risky structures.

Due to heavy rainfall in Maharashtra`s Mumbai, a ground+1 structure collapsed on another ground +01 in Malvani Slum.

The tragedy occurred at 11.10 pm on June 9.  The nearby ground+4 is at risk now, authorities are evacuating people from this structure. Total 11 people were reported dead till 2.17 am on June 10.

These 11 people were declared brought dead to the hospital and 7 people are injured.

They are admitted to BDBA hospital, and an update on their condition is awaited.

Search and rescue operation for trapped people is in progress.

A total of 8 fire tenders, 1 divisional fire officer, BMC ward officer and DMC Disaster Management and local police officers are on spot.

There are 6-8 officers on a single fire tenders, so there are around 48-64 fire officers on these 8 fire tenders.

On Wednesday, Monsoon advancement reached Mumbai in the early morning hours.

Monsoon rains lashed the city and nearby areas for almost the entire day yesterday.

Despite BMC`s claim of completion of mosoon preparations despite the second wave of COVID, there was major water logging in multiple areas in Mumbai on the very first day of rains.
