Summary:

& AnalysisThe cattle sheds along Dahisar river are a major contributor round the year to the deteriorating condition of the Dahisar river, as despite warnings, all the waste from them, including tonnes of buffalo dung, is directly dumped into the river. Founder of River March, Gopal Jhaveri informed that they have asked BMC to take the strictest action against the cattle sheds located along the river as they were serial offenders. BMC meanwhile informed that by evening they had sent their staff to file a First Information Report (FIR). While BMC is finding it difficult to relocate these cattle sheds the only solution is a proper sewage treatment plant be set up to ensure that all the waste coming out of the cattle sheds is first treated and only then allowed to enter the river. Since we have proof, BMC has assured us that they will take action," he said..
