The underground tunnel is a six-lane tunnel and will connect Tikuji-ni-Wadi in Thane to Western Urban Road (WUR) at Borivli. Both these road projects are aimed at increasing connectivity between Mumbai and Thane, and decongesting the traditional Ghodbunder route.
