Mumbai | Thursday | 26th October, 2017

Summary:

This will be the first road construction work taken up by the MMRDA for the city in the past couple of years. MMRDA is currently undertaking construction of roads in Thane, Kalyan and Bhiwandi region, and has constructed many roads such as the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road, Santa Cruz-Chembur Link Road and Sahar Elevated Road in the city. If things go according to plan, flyover work could begin by February 2018. It will mostly benefit the up and down traffic coming or going from Thane towards Andheri,” said Dilip Kawathkar, spokesperson, MMRDA. In order to decongest traffic on the Andheri Ghatkopar Link Road (AGLR) and to ease movement of vehicles going up or down towards Thane, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to construct a flyover starting from the Ghatkopar end of AGLR junction connecting it with Eastern Express Highway (EEH)..
