21-year-old crashes car into wall of IGP’s residence

MYSURU: Driving under the influence of alcohol , a 21-year-old man rammed his car into the compound wall of the official residence of the inspector general of police (IGP) Soumendu Mukherjee on Tuesday night.Police have detained Deepak, a Gandhinagar resident, following the incident. Police have covered up the portion of the wall that collapsed with a huge cloth. “Deepak was returning home from what was reportedly a booze party, along with his friends. He was unable to control his vehicle, and initially hit the median on the road, after which he crashed into the compound wall,” police said.Cops said that IGP Mukherjee was alerted to the incident by the sound of the crash, and called the Siddartha police station.Cops who rushed to the spot detained Deepak, and his car has been seized..
