Efforts are afoot to improve Mysuru districts II PU rankings

MYSURU: Having dropped to the 17th spot among districts in the state-level rankings for second pre-university (II PUC) results, the department of PU education in the district has decided to ramp up efforts to ensure Mysuru slots in among the top 10 districts. The pass percentage of commerce students in 2018 was almost 50%. “Promotions, including time-bound ones, could be held back,” he said.He said the examinations would commence on March 1, next year. While we have emphasised teaching of all subjects, we are particularly keen on improving results in economics , English and accountancy. While the pass percentage was 60.3% in 2017, it rose to 67.7% this year.While students pursuing science and commerce registered impressive results – 76% and 60% respectively, the overall results was pulled down by the poor showing of arts students..
