MYSURU: Former Lokayukta N Santosh Hegde said there is rampant corruption in all the three pillars of democracy and the media which is considered as the fourth estate.He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on ‘Students’ role in preventing corruption in India’ organised by Vidyavardhaka Law College on Saturday.“We hear corruption in the three pillars of democracy – legislature, executive and judiciary – and the media which is considered as the fourth pillar. While around Rs 10-crore public money was wasted to hold the session, but no development issues were discussed. It is a tragedy,” he lamented.He appealed to the youth to work hard in their respective fields to earn money and lead a corruption-free life. “Youth should also make an effort to change the society,” he said.
