Third direct train between Mysuru and Chennai commences service

MYSURU: The third direct train between Mysuru and Chennai was symbolically launched on Tuesday. 06575 KSR Bengaluru – Mysuru MEMU (on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) will depart at 7.50pm from KSR Bengaluru instead of 7.55pm and reach Mysuru at 10:40pm instead of 10.50pm from January 16. The timings suits everyone,” he added.The MP said that in the last four years railway connectivity to Mysuru has undergone significant changes with the introduction of MEMU service and railway electrification. “The plan is to introduce direct flight service between Mysuru and Bengaluru cities beside Goa, Belagavi and other major places,” he said.MLCs Marithibbe Gowda and Sandesh Nagaraj and mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath were present on the occasion.Train no. MP Pratap Simha and railway officials flagged off the new service which will commence on Wednesday.Speaking on the occasion, Pratap Simha said the direct train is expected to help thousands of commuters from the electronic city, Whitefield,and other areas on the outskirts of the Bengaluru to reach Mysuru without changing the train..
