Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy prays for copious rainfall at Maha Kumbha Mela

MYSURU: Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy was among those who was at Triveni Sangama in T Narasipura on Monday evening. The CM is expected to attend the rituals on the third and final day of the Maha Kumbha Mela, and likely to take the customary dip in the waters at the confluence. He was just in time for some of the most awaited rituals including the vibrant Ganga Arathi, which lived up to its expectation as a truly enthralling devine spectacle, and Ganga Puja. Kumaraswamy, after attending the rituals, said that he had prayed for bounteous rainfall in the state to ensure the farming community did not face any trouble. The sangama, where the rivers Cauvery , Kapila and the mythical Spatika Sarovara meet, is hosting the 11th edition of the Maha Kumbha Mela this year, which is the southern version of the Kumbh Mela held in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh.A slew of cultural programmes were also held on the second day of the festival..
