Three 100-year-old schools in Karnataka get heritage tag, Rs 2.5 lakh each for restoration

Mysuru: In an effort to restore old school buildings to its past glory, two primary schools and one high school have been given the tag of ‘heritage school’ by the department of public instruction. The government higher primary school, Hullahalli was started in 1894 while the Bilikere school was started in1900.The project was originally proposed in the state budget of 2018-19. The government high school (RMSA) in Kanakagiri in Mysuru South academic block has also been given the tag of heritage school.Speaking to TOI, Mamata, DDPI, Mysuru said that all the three have already been sanctioned Rs 2.5 lakh for conservation and restoration..
