Another fire reported in Bandipur Tiger Reserve

Mysuru: Officials and personnel of the forest department are yet to recover completely from the massive inferno that engulfed Bandipur Tiger Reserve (BTR) earlier this month, when another wildfire erupted in another part of the jungle on Thursday. “The fire is now spreading towards Shri Subraya and Vanamurthy temple sacred grove,” said the villagers, adding that they had informed the forest department about the fire, and asked them to take immediate action to extinguish the blaze. “However, since it was a ground fire, there was no damage to wildlife or the forest,” he said.Wildfire in SomwarpetA forest fire was reported in Surlabi and Mutlu villages of Somwarpet taluk in Kodagu district.
