Mysore | Saturday | 17th April, 2021

Summary:

In India`s caste-based society, especially in the villages, people from marginalized caste or communities are still being discriminated against.

Neither the barber service nor the water from community wells is denied.

.

Cellphone Showroom Brothers Mahadeva and KP Siddaraju began offering haircut and barber services to members of the Dalit community at their doorsteps.

This was because the Dalits refused to perform these services in the barbershops in their villages.

Against this backdrop, he would have to go to the town of Ullahalli or Nanjangud if he needed barber services.

Also, for this they had to quit hiring, causing them to lose a day`s wages.

The brother-in-law, who has been in the profession for the past eight years, hopes to open a harmonious salon if the government gives them financial aid.

They would like to open saloons in the Dalit areas of the village to help the community overcome any such problems.

When the epidemic broke out, they started their own barbering service for everyone and they paid Rs 40 for a haircut.

However, despite many appeals over the past 8 years and still working, he regrets that he has not received any assistance from local politicians.

In an unfortunate incident last year, a hairdresser from the Mysore district had to face considerable harassment from upper-caste community members for shaving the SC, ST, and OBC communities.
