MYSURU: A bike-borne youth chased by a barking dog in north Mysuru returned hours later and attacked the canine with a sharp weapon on Sunday evening.The black dog has suffered three cuts on its head, and is under care at a veterinary clinic in the city.Police said Arokia Mary , from AJ Block in Mohalla police station limits, had adopted an Indian pariah dog (commonly called a stray) recently. The youth, accompanied by a friend, raced up the stairs to attack the dog tied to the railings on the terrace of Mary's house.He allegedly hit the dog's head at least thrice, leaving the animal badly injured. She said a youth from a neighbouring locality was speeding down the road on his bike when the dog ran alongside letting out an aggressive cry, leaving him frightened.A police officer said the youth, said to be about 20 years old, regained his composure and returned in the evening with a sharp-edged weapon..
