Workshop on Modi Script unveiled in city

During the reign of the Peshwas, Mrathi language was based on Modi Script, which was written without lifting the pen or quill. "Retired Deputy Director of the regional archives, J V Gayathri and deputy director of the archives department S Ambujakshi were present. Scrolls of Modi Script , on which the Marathi language was once based, will be on display at the regional archives in Mysuru, where a three-day workshop on the Script was inaugurated by deputy commissioner D Randeep on Thursday.Pointing to the illustrious history of the Script, Randeep said, "Although I had heard of Devanagiri, but not Modi Script. A workshop on the heritage Script is being held in the Heritage City.
