‘Nirop’, ‘Athang’ connect well with the audience

Nagpur: Two plays — ‘Nirop’ and ‘Athang’ — staged as part of Govind Hari Velankar memorial Saptak festival, surcharged the atmosphere with emotions at Scientific Society Hall, on Monday.Written by Dinkar Bedekar, one-act play ‘Nirop’ depicted an emotional and touching relationship of a family. Whenever the parents visit him, his father expected that he would initiate a talk with him, which does not happen. ‘Athang’ revolved around the life of Pushpa and Radhakka who have come to Mumbai for the first time for Guna’s heart transplantation.Both the plays emotionally connected well with the audience and received repeated applause. At the end, realizes dawns on him that he should have talked to his son on his own to avoid the awkward situation he finds himself in.The second play ‘Athang’ portrayed a mother’s pure love for a child. The mother blames the father for teaching their son not to express himself to anyone..
