Govt must not dare to cut height of Shivaji’s statue: Pawar

The issue of proposed statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Arabian Sea rocked the State Assembly on Friday also. When the government had already declared that funds would not be an issue, then what was promoting the government to reduce the height of the statue, Pawar questioned. However, Ajit Pawar claimed that the Maharashtra Government had reduced the height of the statue from proposed 160 meters to 126 meters to facilitate tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat. But at the same time he demanded that the State government should fulfill its promise of making the tallest statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the sea.
