Dance drama ‘Amrapali’ catches audience’s attention

Nagpur: Swar Sangam Sanskrutik and Kishor Nritya Niketan organized a dance drama , ‘Amrapali’ as part of its biennial concert at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat auditorium in Reshimbagh on Thursday.Member of National Minority Commission, New Delhi and advocate Sulekhatai Kumbhare was the chief guest at the function while director of SCZCC, Deepak Khirwadkar presided over the function.The dance drama was directed by Dr Kishooree Hampiholi who also enacted the role of Amrapali , and Kishor Hampiholi. A magnificent performance of tabla was also presented during the event.The institution wishes to create awareness about the Indian classical dance forms including folk dances through the medium of dance dramas.The academy has earlier staged many dance dramas and ‘Amrapali’ is their seventh production. It was written by Dr Leena Rastogi. The music was given by Shailesh Dani. (Reporting by Namrata Ghaturle).
