Police charges for international cricket matches revised

Nagpur: The state government issued a notification on Monday revising the charges for providing police personnel for international cricket matches in Nagpur, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune. Earlier, the charges were Rs66 lakh for T20 and One-day International match each and Rs55 lakh for Test match.International cricket matches are played at Vidarbha Cricket Association’s stadium at Jamtha on the city’s outskirts on Wardha-Chandrapur national highway.The system of charges for cricket matches is different from other events. These are charges for Nagpur, Navi Mumbai and Pune.For Mumbai, the charges for T20, One-day International and Test match is Rs70 lakh, Rs75 lakh and Rs60 lakh, respectively. The charges for Test match is Rs40 lakh as against last fiscal’s Rs38.50 lakh. Surprisingly, the revised charges will come into effect from April 1 this year retrospectively.The charges are different for Mumbai if compared with that of Nagpur, Navi Mumbai and Pune.The charges for T20 and One-day international match is Rs50 lakh each whereas it was Rs44 lakh in the last fiscal..
