4 killed, several injured in explosion at Army's ammunition depot in Maharashtra's Wardha

MUMBAI: At least four people have died, including an army personnel and three villagers, in an explosion at Central Ammunition Depot (CAD) at Pulgaon, 90 km away from Nagpur. The death toll is likely to go up.This CAD is said to be the largest ammunition depot in Asia.This is the 2nd blast in this CAD in last two years. In 2006, 18 persons, including a Lt Colonel-rank officer, were killed in an explosion at a godown full of rejected anti-tank mines. The incident had sparked a verbal duel between Army and Ordinance factory over the safety of personnel handling the explosives. (More details awaited).
