Nagpur: East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde said slum-dwellers who constructed shanties on the state government’s nazul lands will get ownership rights of the lands soon. He said the government issued notification in this regard on November 13.Khopde on Monday met collector Ashwin Mudgal and demanded immediate implementation of the government’s notification. Ownership rights will be given on lines of scheme being implemented for the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) lands. I have taken efforts for the decision and bore fruits for slum-dwellers,” he said.Khopde also said all shanties of or below 1,500 sq.ft will be regularised. “Shanties cropped up on or before January 1, 2011 will get benefits from the scheme,” he said..
