Three burglaries in 24 hours keep cops on tenterhooks

Nagpur: Unidentified burglars decamped with around 30 tola gold and Rs60,000 cash from the residence of Vikas Harwani, a medicine wholesaler, at Sant Lahanuji Nagar on Friday. The valuables stolen also included American dollars.The burglars broke open the front door lock and latch before laying their hands on the valuables kept in the almirahs. Police said the burglars stole the valuables from an almirah kept inside the bedroom. The family approached Jaripatka police and registering a complaint. Two more burglaries were reported in the city on the same day.Valuables worth Rs6.55 lakh were stolen from the house as the family had gone to attend a marriage function.Police said the Harwani family has been staying at the house on rent..
