Vocalist Banerjee impresses audience with classic show

Nagpur: It was an evening to remember as noted vocalist from Kolkata Ivy Banerjee presented classical and semi-classical melodies at a programme organized under the joint auspices of Chitnavis Centre and Mehfil in memory of Malini Sapre and Shailaja Tole at Tamarind Hall on Sunday.The classical evening started with Ivy presenting raag Bihag that kept the audience engaged all through. Ivy then invoked Goddess Saraswati with Saraswati puja in Rabindra sangeet along with her sister Moitreyee Banerjee.The ever enthusiastic gathering applauded the classical singer for her soulful rendition.Ivy then presented a thumri ‘Airi Shyam nahi aaye’ in raag Khamaj.
