NMC to pay Rs1,000cr to 2 garbage collectors over 10 yrs

The NMC plans to recover the project cost by selling out commercial shops, halls etc. The NMC had not received any response from private players.The project will come up on 6,187.55 sq mt on prime location land along Kelibag Road. The land is under the possession of Appaswami Infrastructure that has served notice to the NMC for acquisition of the land. Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will pay Rs1,000 crore to two contractors, who will provide vehicles as well as manpower to lift garbage in the city for a period of 10 years. Existing leaseholders of NMC shops will be given commercial space of 2,300 sq mt in the project.To a query, Kukreja said this year there was no provision in the budget for this project..
