Pench STPF guard dies in accident on NH7

He along with his colleague was heading towards Deolapar on his bike when the accident took place on the flyover at Paoni. An RFO and at least 7 STPF men are also accompanying the body. His bike dashed against the side wall which proved fatal.Both, Thanke and Bhande, were shifted to Deolapar primary health centre (PHC) where the former was declared brought dead. Bhande is in shock but recuperating.Pench field director RS Govekar visited the spot and made arrangements to shift Thanke’s body to his native place in Latur in Marathwada. Nagpur: A forest guard with Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) in Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR), Maharashtra, died in a freak mishap while another was injured on NH7 late on Monday night.The victim has been identified as Mahesh Thanke (28) while injured Ravikant Bhande (27) has been admitted to a private hospital in Nagpur for head injuries.Sources said Thanke worked as dog handler with STPF and stayed in a rented room in Paoni..
