Poaching racket exposed, 12kg tiger bones, nails seized from Pench tribals

Rishikesh Ranjan, chief conservator of forest (CCF) & field director of Pench told TOI bones are suspected to be of three tigers.Latest count showed Pench having 44 tigers. On Monday, around 8.30pm they approached the accused posing as customers and seized the bones kept in the backyard of the house. On the one hand these fishermen want fishing rights in Pench and on the other they have taken to poaching. Sources said the accused were fishermen and poached tigers while entering forests as fishermen. The teams also seized 14 tiger nails kept in a steel box in the kitchen by wife of one of the accused.Official sources said the bones included ribs, skull, tooth etc..
