MSRTC to continue with 110 buses for city

Nashik | Saturday | 5th May, 2018

Summary:

"At a time when there should have been at least 700 buses - given the norm of 400 buses per 10 lakh people - the city is left with only 110 buses. "We have been able to reduce losses by curtailing number of buses and this will continue till we close down the operations in the city limits," an MSRTC official said. "Since the closure of schools and colleges, we have slashed 20 buses bringing down the number from 130 to 110. At the moment, Nashik has a population of 17 lakh and the number of buses being pressed into service is acutely inadequate. From 265 buses plying in the city in January 2017, the number has been steadily reduced to 110 in April 2018.The MSRTC said its duty is not to provide services within the city limits and it is the job of the civic body to do so..
