Impact assessment of medical colleges soon

MUHS has 346 affiliated colleges, including government and private colleges. The parameters set by the Medical Council of India (MCI) as well as the respective state medical councils will be followed in case of medical, dental, ayurveda, homoeopathy, physiotherapy and nursing colleges.“The ‘impact assessment project’ will cover colleges offering other applied health sciences courses. Grades from A+ to D will be awarded to medical colleges after an inspection by the expert committee,” said Dr Mhaisekar.The assessment will comprise two parts. Nashik: The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) will conduct impact assessment of all colleges affiliated to it on various parameters such as infrastructure, faculty, hospital facilities etc.The module of this assessment is ready and the university is all set to introduce impact assessment of MBBS colleges from the new academic session.MUHS vice-chancellor Dr Deelip Mhaisekar said that the assessment of colleges will be conducted with the help of the ministry of medical education and drugs. “We have been told that the assessment will be on the lines of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)..
