RPF team arrests 3 in running train robbery case

Nashik: Railway protection force (RPF) aboard LTT – Vishakhapatnam (Super Express) apprehended three out of four robbers who attempted to run away after committing a crime in a moving train near Padali railway station.According to RPF officials, the jawans were deputed to monitor the train. They suspected a theft to have taken place, as the train slowed down around 3.30 am on Tuesday, in the jungles between Igatpuri and Padali railway stations, where the track nears the highway.“Even before the train stopped, three persons were seen jumping off the train and running away. Two jawans chased them in the dark and caught one of the four,” the officials said.During interrogation Aditya Mahesh Kumar (19), a resident of Thakurli confessed to snatching a purse. Near the highway, the teams found two persons seeking to hitchhike vehicles travelling towards Mumbai.“When the teams accosted them, they tried to run away but they were eventually caught,” the officials added.The two arrested are Shera Ganesh Sing (20) and Raju Chandramani Kushwah (20) from Thakurli..
