Nashik: The state government sanctioned Rs 100 crore for cash-strapped Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation (JCMC) recently.The municipal commissioner, Chandrakant Dange, confirmed to TOI over the phone that the state government has approved Rs 100 crore to the civic body last week.“The amount would be used for improving the infrastructure under the urban rejuvenation programme. BJP triumphed in the civic polls. We will use the amount to strengthen the road, water supply, drainage and sewage systems of the city,” the civic chief said.The local BJP camp is elated with the powers after the victory in the civic polls. The results were announced on August 3, in which the party won 57 of the 75 seats defeating the Shiv Sena-led local front.The state government’s funds for JCMC come at a time when the civic body is reeling under severe financial crisis.Its dues to various financial institutions are over Rs 400 crore..
