Summary:

Nashik: Petrol prices touched a new high of Rs 89.70 per litre in the city, while diesel prices also recorded an all-time high at Rs 77.46 per litre on Sunday. The steady climb in the price of fuel is causing much worry. It has become difficult for farmers, who use diesel-operated machinery, to cope with the price rise. Unfortunately, government has not taken any measures in the past three weeks to bring fuel prices under control,” Sachin Katyare, a shop owner, said.“Earlier, my fuel expenses were around Rs 2,200 per month. There is a scarcity of electricity, and we get power just eight hours a day for our pumps. I have started using my vehicle more sparingly now, as it is getting to be unaffordable” said Bhushan Gavande, who works in a private firm..
