Mohadari villagers demand flyover

Nashik: Residents of Mohadari, 18 km from here, blocked the Nashik-Pune highway after a Shivshahi bus hit a mini pick-up van from behind on Tuesday night.The blockade continued for nearly 45 minutes till the Sinnar MIDC police rushed to the spot and dispersed the agitating crowd. Apart from the damage to both the vehicles, the driver of the pick-up van, Somnath Rathod, suffered injuries on his head and shoulders.The incident left the residents of Mohadari village along the highway fuming, who blocked both sides of the highway for nearly 45 minutes.Police officers said Mohadari village has a population of around 1,500 that is scattered on either side of the highway. The Sinnar MIDC police have booked 25 people for blocking the road illegally under section 341 (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code.An official of the Sinnar MIDC said at around 6pm on Tuesday, a Shivshai bus heading to Sinnar from Nashik hit a mini pick-up van from behind when the vehicle slowed down near a speed breaker..
