‘State OK with forming of company for bus service’

Nashik: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has given his nod to Nashik Municipal Corporation to form an independent company to oversee and manage the city bus operations.“The chief minister gave his approval during the review meeting held here on Thursday,” Civic chief Tukaram Mundhe said.Interestingly, the elected representatives of the NMC were demanding formation of a transport committee to manage city bus services.Mundhe said that some time back he had taken up the issue with the chief minister, highlighting cities where transport companies were successfully managing the services.The NMC is in the process of taking over the city bus service from the cash-strapped Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC)..
