9 lakh sanitary napkins distributed for free among schoolgirls across district

NASHIK: More than 1.50 lakh school girls in Nashik district were give around 9 lakh sanitary napkins for free on Wednesday. Several corporate houses in city supported this initiative through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.More than 9 lakh sanitary napkins were distributed for free to a total of 1,064 ZP schools in the district. Don't feel uncomfortable while holding the sanitary napkins but rather feel proud as you are maintaining personal hygiene and health," said Fadnavis while interacting with girls.She asked them to promote the use of sanitary napkins among their friends and also learn the method of its proper disposal. In Nashik, the event was held at Kalidas Kala Mandir where Amruta Fadnavis, wife of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis , was the chief guest.More than 1,000 students from Government Girls High School, Sarda Girls High School, Adarsh Middle School and Annasaheb Vaishampayan High School were distributed free sanitary napkins. I will not comment on how genuine are the complaints raised, but the movement has definitely started a good campaign..
