None booked for violation of SC order on firecrackers

Nashik: The citizens of Nashik as well as the residents of rural areas were generally found abiding by the Supreme Court order on firecrackers during Diwali festival. None has been booked for violating the SC order of bursting crackers on between 8pm and 10pm, police said.“There was no case of bursting firecrackers, other than within the permitted time, registered with any of the police stations across the city,” said DCP Laxmikant Patil.The police officers said that they had spread awareness among citizens about the permissible timing of bursting firecrackers and the types of firecrackers that were allowed. The menace of the loud bangs was largely missing this year, according citizens of Nashik Road area.Police were also seen patrolling the market areas, where firecrackers were being burst by traders and shopkeepers after Laxmi Puja.
