District health department launches camp to trace TB patients

NASHIK: The district health department launched a special drive from Monday to trace patients suffering from tuberculosis (TB).Volunteers and Asha workers from across the district would be visiting households in rural parts of the district that are vulnerable to infection of TB. The diagnosis system has become easier at government facilities,” a senior health official said. “The district health machinery has all the needed facility to treat TB. “The drive would be underway till November 24,” a senior official of the district health department said.The volunteers and Asha workers, if needed, would also take sputum of the suspected patients for further investigation..
