MSEDCL gets Rs 1 crore for laying underground cable along smart road

NASHIK: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has received Rs1.10 crore for laying underground cable for the smart city project being carried out across the city.The work of laying underground cable from Ashok Stambh to Trimbak Naka will be carried out as part of the smart city project after the state power utility got funds through Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS). "The MSEDCL has proposed underground cable system across the city, but since it is a costly affair and the company does not have cash, it will take long time before the underground network system is in place. The commercial establishment and the residential building were without electricity for around 13 hours, before the problem was rectified. However we are now getting the system in place as part of the smart city project," an MSEDCL official said.The road from Ashok Stambh to Trimbak Naka has been dug up and the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) is carrying out the work related to the smart city project in the area..
