To accommodate traders corporator proposes mini mall at Shivaji Garden

“In order to revive the old world charm of the garden, we came up with the idea of a theme garden. NASHIK: Corporator Vaishali Bhosale has presented a proposal to the civic administration to include a mini mall at the Shivaji Garden.The garden in ward 13 of the city is being developed into a theme garden with an amalgamation of Maratha, British and modern eras. We will soon be implementing it,” said an NMC official.The garden will be on the lines of Shaniwarwada in Pune with Maratha landscape, Jackson Garden and an urban garden with play area for children along with garden play instruments. Recently, the state government sanctioned Rs 4.06 cr for the development of the garden.The garden is spread across four acres of land. If a mini mall is constructed here, the NMC will also get a source of revenue,” she stated in the memorandum.She said that being in the heart of the city, the roads are very busy here and that constructing a mini mall would ease the traffic to some extent.One of the oldest gardens in the heart of the city, Shivaji Garden, is being renovated as a Smart Garden under Amrut funds..
