Summary:

NASHIK: The CPI (M) has decided to contest from the reserved Dindori Lok Sabha constituency in Nashik district even if the UPA refuses to leave the seat for the party. “We will spell out our strategy for the Lok Sabha polls within the next couple of days,” he said.During the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, CPI(M) had fielded Hemant Waghere from the Dindori seat, although NCP was in the fray. At present, of the six assembly seats under Dindori parliamentary constituencies, NCP had won three. Harischandra Chavan of BJP had defeated NCP’s Bharati Pawar by 1.47 lakh votes while Waghere emerged third. It is unlikely that NCP will forgo the Dindori seat as it is confident of winning this time. According to the UPA agreement, the seat belongs to NCP.The decision was taken during the state committee meeting of the CPI(M) in Mumbai on Monday. The party leaders said that the committee has taken a decision to contest Dindori and Palghar seats, but leave Solapur seat vacant.“If UPA leadership agrees to part with the Dindori seat, our party will even forgo the Palghar seat..
