Summary:

This year the number of rounds is likely to increase as there are more applications compared to last year,” the official added. “Last year there were five rounds of lottery to allot the seats. “In cases where the number of applications is less than the seats for a particular school there would be no need to have a lottery and the seats would be allotted to the applicants. NASHIK: Nashik has emerged fourth across the state in terms of number of applications received for admissions of children in schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.Pune is on top of the list with 53,843 applications followed by Nagpur (26,044), Thane (16,035), Nashik(14,711) and Aurangabad (14,484).This year Nashik zilla parishad received as many as 14,711 applications for admission — over 3,000 more than the last year.Nashik ZP is the nodal agency for admissions under the RTE for the entire district involving 5,735 seats in 457 schools. With over twice the number of application received as compared to the seats available, there would be stiff competition to get admission,” a ZP education department official said. The ZP would resort to lottery system for allotment of seats to the beneficiaries..
