Maharashtra s fresh COVID cases remain above 6000

Summary:

The total number of fresh COVID-19 cases in the state continued to be above 6,000 even as the total tally crossed the 18-lakh mark. State health department officials reported that among the fresh cases, Mumbai took the lead with 1,147 infections followed by Pune with 751 cases and Nashik with 380 cases. In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, while Thane had 300 new cases, Kalyan-Dombivli had 233 cases and all other districts had less than 200 cases each. With a rise in cases, the city's daily growth rate rose marginally to 0.35 per cent as the total count reached 2.79 lakh cases. Eleven administrative wards have a growth rate higher than the city's average and each of the wards has a growth rate less than 1 per cent..
