In the 21-day period from December 10 to 30, the donation figures surged from Rs 17.43 crore to 35 crore.Trustee Sachin Tambe , said, "Friday was the last day for the temple trusts across the state to deposit old currency notes received during the demonetisation period to their respective bank accounts.

It has been a busy day for the temple`s accounts department as well."Tambe said that the total collection figure from November 8 to December 8 was comparatively less than the temple`s average monthly collection figure of Rs 19.5 crore.

As the number of visitors rises, donations also go up in December.
