Electricity poles halt U-turns’ completion

The U-turns are coming up at the Hanuman Murti cut between Sectors 49-101, near Amrapali Estate between Sectors 50-76, ahead of the metro station between Sectors 50-75 and near CNG pump between Sectors 51-72.A meeting was also held between senior officials of the Noida Authority and the PVVNL on May 26 where the matter was discussed but the required cost estimate for the work has still not reached the Noida Authority. NOIDA: The cut where a Monday morning accident led to a 32-year-old woman being injured poses a serious risk to commuters and pedestrians but it can only be closed when the upcoming U-turn near Amrapali Estate between sectors 50 and 76 is ready.The four U-turns are yet to completed as Noida Authority is yet to shift the electricity poles installed in the area where the road has to be widened for construction of the U-turns.Authority officials said they are waiting for the Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) to shift the electricity poles that fall in the area since April.Salil Yadav, incharge of electrical maintenance at the Authority, told TOI that shifting of the 11kV and 33kV poles can only be carried out by the Authority after division I of PVVNL sends an estimate for the shifting..
