Noida metro seeks bids for branding rights, 16 companies show interest

NOIDA: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has invited bids from companies to sell naming rights of all 21 stations along the 29.7-km Noida-Greater Noida under-construction corridor in order to generate revenue.In a pre-bid meeting held at the NMRC office on Tuesday, as many as 16 groups have shown interest in purchasing the co-branding rights of different metro stations, officials said. It had selected nine NCR stations for branding , these included Noida City Centre, Golf Course, Botanical Garden and Sector-18 in Noida, Vaishali in Ghaziabad and Huda City Centre, IFFCO Chowk, MG Road and Guru Dronacharya metro stations in Gurgaon. The technical bidding is the first step where a participant’s bid will be scrutinized if it fulfils the criteria, followed by the financial bidding.The last date for submission of the technical bid on the NMRC’s portal is July 26 and the financial bid will open the next day, officials said. “After the technical bid, the participants will be short-listed for the final financial bids,” said NMRC general manager (finance) PD Upadhyay.A bidder can bid for one or multiple stations and the successful single bidders can attach prefixes or suffixes with the metro station’s name like Honda 2wheeler Vishwa Vidyalaya, Wave City Centre etc. One of the potential bidders has shown interest in getting naming rights for all the metro stations — from Noida Sector 71 till Depot Station.TOI had on June 11 last year reported about NMRC’s plan to auction the co-branding rights.A successful bidder will get a licence for co-branding of the metro station for 10 years after it passes the technical and financial bidding processes..
