Cops want U-turn before Sashi Chowk, Noida insists on separate lane

Noida | Tuesday | 7th August, 2018

Summary:

On May 8 this year, the traffic cell had written to SP (traffic) Anil Jha, saying the closure of the cut would lead to increase in traffic at Sashi Chowk, but the police had stressed on the construction of a U-turn.“Sashi Chowk has seen a substantial increase in the volume of traffic. In the future, the volume will increase further. Since, there was a plan to make a red light-free zone in major zones, the signal can be done away with as it stalls traffic for long,” he said. The traffic cell is not keen on constructing another U-turn at the spot as the road between Golf Course and Hoshiarpur already has four U-turns, one of which is less than 1km from Sashi Chowk. NOIDA: Noida traffic police has reiterated a demand it had made one and a half years ago for constructing a U-turn before Sashi Chowk The plan, submitted earlier to the Noida Authority, included a suggestion to close the Degree College cut or the T-point near Logix Mall, from where commuters travelling from Sector 71 to Sectors 31/25 take a turn, disrupting those travelling ahead towards Sashi Chowk. The traffic cell of the Authority has, however, not agreed to the proposal and instead suggested that a separate lane be created on the City Centre- Sashi Chowk stretch using jersey barriers..
