Merge child hospital and Kasna medical college: DM to govt

Noida | Friday | 9th November, 2018

Summary:

Currently, the district hospital functions from a building adjacent to the super speciality child hospital in Sector 30.Significantly, the letter from the DM suggests that when the existing building of the child PGI is vacated, the district hospital operating from its adjacent building can be extended to a 300-bedded hospital. Once the idea has been mooted, it is upto the state government and AIIMS to work on it. The letter written by the DM also suggests that the government can think of handing over the upcoming building of the new district hospital in Sector 39 to an AIIMS-like institute.“If this happens, then the cost to be incurred on the building can be borne by the central government,” says the letter. The previous proposal to hand over child PGI took months to finally get confirmed that it was not happening,” the official said.Asked whether the suggestion was the BJP’s push for its poll promise before the upcoming general elections, BJP’s Noida unit media coordinator Manish Sharma said the suggestion was an extension of the party’s previous poll promise in the state elections. NOIDA: The district magistrate has suggested to the state government that the existing super speciality paediatric hospital & post-graduate teaching institute (SSPHPGTI) be merged with Manyawar Kanshiram Multi Speciality Hospital, also known as the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Kasna, Greater Noida Terming both the child PGI and the GIMS as “under-utilised,” a letter written by DM B N Singh to chief secretary Anup Chandra Pandey suggests that they should be “merged to cater to areas like Greater Noida, Dadri and Jewar.”The letter follows a missive from Noida MLA Pankaj Singh who wrote to the DM on November 2 seeking a status report on the under-construction building of the new district hospital in Sector 39 and making services of AIIMS available in Noida..
