Mayur Vihar-Mahamaya rd to take off after 6-year wait

Once constructed, the road would provide seamless connectivity to motorists between east Delhi’s Chilla area in Mayur Vihar phase 1 and Noida-Greater Noida expressway. Noida: After a delay of over six years, work on the 5.5km elevated road over the Shahdara drain on the Delhi-Noida stretch is all set to take off in January next year. Currently, traffic passes through the Dadri-Noida link road which faces heavy traffic jams daily. Currently, 75,000 vehicles use this route daily, triggering traffic jams during peak hours.In fact, the dual carriageway elevated corridor was conceptualized with an aim to decongest Mayur Vihar-Noida Road which leads to Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Kalindi Kunj. Noida Authority got the final go-ahead from Delhi’s lieutenant governor Anil Baijal on Friday to launch the ambitious project.The Rs 650cr project is expected to be completed in 42 months..
