Flyover near Mayur Vihar phase-I to open after 1.4-year delay

NEW DELHI: After a delay of almost 16 months, the flyover on Noida Link Road near Mayur Vihar Phase-I is set to be thrown open to the public in the next few days by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. The 1km flyover, built at a cost of Rs 50 crore, will make the entire stretch signal-free.While the flyover’s work was almost complete by mid-2018, the construction of two loops going towards Mayur Vihar-I delayed its inauguration. To avoid getting stuck in a jam, commuters end up taking other routes. However, it got delayed due to several hindrances. In all, there are three flyovers on Noida Link Road.PWD officials said that after the completion of Barapullah Phase-III, travel time between Mayur Vihar and Aurobindo Marg in south Delhi will come down to 15-20 minutes from the current 60-90 minutes..
