HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh government is hiring two special trains to transport people to Delhi at a cost of Rs 1.12 crore so that they can take part in a deeksha, a rally to be undertaken by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on February 11. “The trains will transport members of interested political parties, NGOs, organisations, associations and people to participate in the one-day deeksha led by the CM,” Srikant Nagulapalli, secretary to government (political), said in the GO. Naidu is undertaking a daylong deeksha in the national capital to demand special category status (SCS) for AP, and protest against the ‘raw deal’ meted out to the state by the Centre.In a GO (No 262) issued by the general administration department, the AP government accorded administrative sanction to hire two special trains with 20 bogies each from the South Central Railway, Secunderabad.One train will set out from Srikakulam in north coastal Andhra at 12 am on February 8, and the other from Anantapur in Rayalaseema at 10 am on the same day, to facilitate people reach Delhi.Both the trains are supposed to reach Delhi at 10 am on February 10..
