Customers duped of Rs 50 lakh through card cloning at Burger King restaurant in Noida mall

NOIDA: A case of card cloning fraud has been unearthed in Noida's GIP Mall, where the accused worked at Burger King restaurant.On Monday, Noida Sector-39 police had arrested the restaurant's sales manager Sumit and recovered cloned cards and skimming device from him. Then money was withdrawn from the cloned card in some other city, state or even country.Police are trying to find out more details about Rahul and the syndicate involved in the crime. This device was given to him by one Rahul.During investigation, Sumit said that since December 2018 he was stealing data of 50-60 people every day through card cloning. He then sold the data to Rahul for Rs 10,000-15,000.Probe revealed that accused Sumit had cloned 500 ATM cards till now and managed to dupe cardholders of around Rs 50 lakh.Police have started collecting the details of victims and are trying to nab the mastermind.Noida Sector 39 SHO Uday Pratap Singh said that he used to save the card details in the skimming device when customers made payment..
