Cops to examine Noida ATMs, seal those that don’t have security

NOIDA: Having identified the mastermind behind the SBI ATM robbery in Sector 82, Noida police have decided to start an inspection of all cash vending kiosks across the city and could even seal those without basic security arrangements like armed guards and CCTV cameras.Police said Bulandshahr resident Yogendra not only plotted the Rs 40 lakh SBI ATM robbery but was also involved in a loot of Rs 6 lakh from a cash van in Sector 20 police station area nearly five years back. We suspect he had carried some of the cash with him and some may have been taken away by pedestrians after the duo fell down when their bike was hit by the car that gave them a chase,” SP (city) Sudha Singh told TOI.Singh said a meeting will soon be called with the bankers where they will be apprised of the required safety parameters that need to be followed..
